The school focuses on the fundamentals of a quality education interwoven with strong Catholic principles. The curriculum is grounded in a college preparatory program with a four-year honor track option. This is enhanced by an average class size of 25 and a committed, quality faculty. Every student is challenged to use his or her God-given talents to the fullest. Guided by the Norbertine Fathers, Mary Star promotes growth in self-discipline and responsibility through leadership, athletic, and service opportunities. Each student completes a minimum of 60 service hours before graduation and many complete far beyond this level. Students who attend Mary Star of the Sea High School come from Harbor Area Catholic, private and public schools. They come from a range of ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds with the vast majority being from working class Catholic families. Twenty percent of this years students receive tuition aid.
