Athletic Booster Club Message September 2010 Welcome back Mary Star Sports Fans! As the new school year begins the student athletes who represent our school begin their quest to once again bring glory and honor to Mary Star of the Sea. To kickoff our fall sports season we will host our annual Fall Sports Dinner on Wednesday, September 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the school courtyard. Just two days later the cheer and song leaders will show off their new routines during our first home football game on Friday, September 3th at Daniels Field. The cross country team is off and running toward their first meet of the season on Wednesday, September 22nd. Finally, the girls’ volleyball team, which has been practicing hard, will have their first home game on Thursday, September 9th. Supporting all of our fall sports teams is the Mary Star High School Athletic Booster Club - made up of you —the parents, family, friends and alumni of Mary Star of the Sea. Your support ensures their student athletic experience to be a memorable part of their lives they will cherish forever. Please consider joining our athletic booster volunteers as we continually work to support the high school athletic programs. This fall, volunteers will staff the snack bar at all home football and volleyball games, work to publish the fall sports guide, and organize the social event of the season, the annual Tropical Beach Bash dinner dance. Mark your calendars for this “not to be missed” event. Please join the boosters and support our athletes. Membership in the Booster Club is only $5. In closing, to our Star athletes: remember to practice hard because the effort you put out in practice will show up on the playing field, court, or course. Success is the result of hard work and determination. Play with your hearts and with your heads focused on giving your best efforts. Win, lose or draw, one of your greatest rewards will be a lifetime of memories you can be proud of.
