Academic Decathlon is a class, a club, and a competition.  It's all sorts of things!  We meet every morning at 7am in the fall semester to cover all sorts of varied topics centering about a main theme.  This year (2015) this theme is India.  Students are introduced to subject matter and then tested in the following ten disciplines; art, music, language/literature, mathematics, economics, social science, physical science, essay, interview, and speech.

The competition, which is held annually on two weekends in January and February, is held at Alemany High School and Mary Star competes against other private schools in the Southern California Private School competition.

Over the last three years, the Stars have won four gold team medals and two silver team medals and have garnered over 250 individual medals in that time.  It has been quite the successful run for the Stars in this period.
