ASB Activities
MARY STAR OF THE SEA HIGH SCHOOL CONSTITUTION
 

PREAMBLE

We, the students of Mary Star of the Sea High School, establish the Associate Student Body as the central, coordinating body of all extra-curricular activities of this school for the betterment of a strong spirit of unity, cooperation and understanding among ourselves and the faculty; to encourage participation in student government and student oriented activities; to promote the will of the majority while protecting the rights of the minority and insuring the voice of the individual; and promote citizenship, scholastic and social standards, we hereby establish this constitution.

ARTICLE I:  NAME, NICKNAME & COLORS

Section 1:  This organization shall be known as the Associated Student Body of Mary
Star of the Sea High School, and abbreviated form shall be known as A.S.B.

Section 2:
  "Stars" is the nickname of Mary Star of the Sea High School.

Section 3:  The official colors are Gold and Blue.

ARTICLE II:  PURPOSE, MEMBERSHIP & PRIVILEGES


Section 1: The object of this organization shall be to promote the well fare of the  students and uphold in every way the good name of the school and to promote the interests thereof.

Section 2:
All students of Mary Star of the Sea High School shall be members of A.S.B and shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of this organization. Those rights shall include:
A. The right to hold to hold office in any student activity for which they quality.
B. The right to participate in student activities for A.S.B.
Article III:  A.S.B. Officers

Section1: The following officers shall be elected by the voters of the Student Body: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Commissioner of Public Relations, Commissioner of Spirit, Commissioner of Campus Ministry, and Commissioner of Clubs.

Section 2: Duties and qualifications for A.S.B. officers are stated in the by-laws.

Article IV:  CLASS OFFICERS

Section 1: The freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior class shall elect a president, secretary-treasure, campus minister and class spirit commissioner from among there own class ranks.

Section 2: Duties and qualifications for class officers are stated in the by -laws.

ARTICLE V:  STUDENT COUNCIL

Section 1:
The Student Council shall be composed of the elected ASB officers, and class officers.

Section 2:  It shall be the purpose of the Student Council to attend to all business directly or indirectly concerned with the students, to foster school spirit, provide for worthwhile activities, to carry out and execute all measures acted upon in Student Council.

Section 3:  Student Council meetings shall be at least once per week.  If a member misses three meetings that member is subject to probation; if a member misses five meetings, that member is subject to impeachment.

Section 4:  It shall be the purpose of the Student Council to execute all ASB affairs; to act as an advisory body which communicates between the Student Council and the Student Body.

Section 5:  In order for the Student Council to function, a faculty advisor, or his delegate, must be present at each meeting.
