With textures, artists render work faster that gives more of a professional look. The trick about textures in the digital art field is that you need to learn how to use them just enough so it can enhance your work, but not to overuse them. This is a common thing in the field that happens when artists start using them. So the trick is finding ways to add texture in your work. This following assignment is for you to digitally illustrate IMPLIED TEXTURE that replicates the surfaces found in and around the classroom and campus. Students are allowed to use GIMP, Canva, or Sketchbook. First, students need to find different surfaces that have texture that they'd like to replicate. Then, students are to section off 12 areas of their screen (or background Layer if using GIMP or Sketchbook) and then utilize the various brushes to create a minimum of 12 different textures. Students then need to make sure and write down what each texture type of surface is. The following .pdf attached below can be used as an example for reference. Once you've completed the assignment, please take a picture and upload it here into Google Classroom to move on to completing the Google Drawings - Adding Texture to Shapes (Google Slides Deck). Altogether, this assignment is worth 10 points.
This following assignment is for you to digitally illustrate that replicates the surfaces found in and around the classroom and campus. First, students need to complete the Google Slides in creating a texture and adding transparency. Next, students are to use Photopea and find different surfaces that have texture that they'd like to replicate. Students demonstrate how to apply various textures in Photopea by creating a drawing that includes 9 or more textures. Students have the choice in what textures they would like to create as they follow the steps below to learn how to create certain textures in Photopea. Steps utilizing Photopea include:
Step 1: Sectioning off 9 or more areas to add various textures utilizing the various brushes in Photopea. Then making sure to write down what each texture surface is. The following .pdf attached below can be used as an example for reference.
Step 2: Click and upload your file and use the Magic Wand tool in the toolbar to allow you to fill in each section with textures.
Step 3: Save and download your file by exporting your work and saving it as a .png to then upload it here into Google Classroom and submit your work.
*A more detailed breakdown of the following steps using Photopea are attached in below. Altogether, this assignment is worth 10 points.
