There are a number of ways to gain financial aid and/or scholarships to help pay for your college tuition. It just takes research, patience and perseverance!
 
However please be careful and avoid "Scholarship Scams." According to www.fastweb.com, here are some great tips to keep in mind when researching financial aid opportunities:

Financial Aid for College
Both two- and four-year colleges offer financial aid for students in the forms of scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs.Financial aid comes in several forms including
  • Grants
  • Loans
  • Scholarships (merit and other criteria-based)
  • Work/study programs (on campus work opportunities for students)
 
Scholarships -
There are various types of financial scholarships including:
  • Merit scholarships– given for academic achievement (high school GPA and/or college admissions test results). To be considered, you generally must apply to the college by a set date and additional applications are NOT necessary.
  • Criteria-based scholarships– given for a limitless number of reasons, each organization deciding its own criteria for scholarship awards.Another source is www.fastweb.com for a very large scholarship database.You can apply for any scholarships for which you qualify!
