Write a Letter from Charlie Marlow to his Aunt describing his adventures in the Congo

Write a letter from Charlie Marlow to "The Company" complaining about the "unsound practices" used to steal Ivory

You will choose 2 characters from novels that you have read or movies that you've seen. List 4 traits for each. Are they flat or round, static or dynamic. Are they antagonists or protagonists? Minor or major?

Choose 2 pieces of literature where the setting plays a significant role. For each, list ways in which the setting contributes to it's meaning or effect.

Today’s story, “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker, focuses on the relationships we hold to our own cultural identity and practices. Do you feel connected to your heritage? Are there specific practices, customs, or traditions that you still carry out with your family? Do you feel at all distanced or disconnected from your heritage? Do you think that holding onto cultural customs and traditions is important in our world today? Explain your answers in a 7-10 sentence paragraph.

This biblical quote served as inspiration for our story that we will cover today. In your own words, what does this passage mean and what is its significance? If we are making predictions about possible plot points/ potential themes our story for today, Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, what could these predictions be?

This will be the format for breaking down important information regarding all major works we cover in class this year. We will cover the format today, and you will be completing a MWDS for The Road. This will be due one week from today (Thursday, 9/1). We will have time throughout the next week to work on these in class, so please be sure to bring your copy of the novel!

With your group, follow the instructions on the attached document to complete your assignment in class today. You and your group members may work collaboratively on the same document, however, you must each turn in a copy of the assignment to this posting.
