Quarterly Exam
Spanish 2- The focus will be on Chapter 6 ven conmigo text on primer and segundo paso vocabulary. Also included on the quarterly will be the preterit tense with u-stem verbs (Ch. 7 Nassi grammar book) and the imperfect tense (ch. 8 in Nassi grammar book).

Spanish 1- The focus will be on Chapter 6 ven conmigo text on primer paso and segundo paso vocabulary as well as possessive adjectives. Also included on the quarterly will be commands. Formal commands, Negative Formal commands, Informal commands, and Negative Informal commands.

All classes are to complete flashcards for the second section of chapter 6. They are listed at the end of the chapter under the heading "segundo paso." These vocabulary words in addition to primer paso words will be included on the quarterly exam on WEDNESDAY!!!

Class is to turn in a 50-100 word reflection on the Lean on Me Project. Students are to use quotes from songs presented in class by Mr. Perez as well as any songs that they heard in class by their fellow classmates. DUE FRIDAY!!! Typed or hand-written is acceptable.

Each student is to bring in or email me ([email protected]) a powerpoint presentation of their inspirational song. Each student will present a school appropriate song to the class and explain why they chose this song in a 1-3 minute oral presentation.

Class will celebrate the conclusion of Dia de los muertos week...Day of the dead week. We will be honoring our past loved ones through a cultural celebration where each student has the option of bringing in school appropriate food and/or beverages based on the likes of the family member or friend that they want to honor.

Test for Spanish 1 is focused on Pronouns and articles. Class will need to know the difference between Definite and Indefinite articles. The test will also include vocabulary from their ven conmigo textbook based on chapter 2 primer and segundo paso.

Test for Spanish 2 is focused on Irregular verbs in the Present Tense. The test will also include knowledge of Direct object recognition in a sentence as well as the ability to replace the direct object with its direct object pronoun. The test will also include vocabulary from ven conmigo textbook chapter three based on primer and segundo paso.

Tutoring is available after school.

Bring flashcards of the new vocabulary based on segundo paso in your ven conmigo textbook.

Class will need to study their review notes that we took in class today Monday.

Students will turn in their review packets at the BEGINNING of class TUESDAY the 11 of October.

Students are to complete their quarterly review packets given to them on Friday. Make sure to have them on Monday for our review for the quarterly exam Tuesday.

Class is to complete the post test exercises from their grammar book. Stem-changing e to ie verbs will be our next chapter. Class is to complete exercises A,B,C,E on page 28-29.

Be prepared to receive a quarterly review packet Friday to ensure preparedness for Tuesday's quarterly exam.

Class will be tested on their knowedge of stem changing verbs in the present tense durng their block period. They are also going to be tested on segundo paso and tercer paso of chapter one in their ven conmigo textbook. All classes were told to write down review exercises.

Project Spain travel brochure poster will be collected at the start of class. Make sure that you have met all requirements.

The written reflection is not due this Friday. Only the poster is due this Friday.

Homework due during block is to make sure you bring in ALL your information (including pictures) about your city in Spain. Also bring a poster board to create your travel brochure. During block we will be working on creating a travel brochure to create interest in your specific city.

Also flashcards will be checked as well as 10 sentences using me gusta... no me gusta...

Class will be tested on present tense of ar er and ir verbs during block period. Make sure to know how to write a question (verb subject) a statement (subject verb) and a negative statement (subject no verb).

Look at Period 2 classe attachment if you need a copy of the homework worksheet. Class is expected to complete Present Tense -ER and -IR worksheet.

No homework will be collected on Monday but it is recommended to begin reading pages 13 and 17 in your Nassi grammar book. We will be studying Present tense of -er and -ir verbs throughout the week.

Homework is to study your vocabulary for the week. The vocabulary is based on useful phrases in the classroom.

You are to familiarize yourself with the Spanish alphabet. Make sure you practice out loud at at home.
