Class is to complete exercises A, B, C, D in their Nassi grammar books. The chapter begins on page 421. The chapter is called La contribucion de hispanoamerica a la literatura, el arte y la musica.

Quarterly Exam
Spanish 2- The focus will be on Chapter 6 ven conmigo text on primer and segundo paso vocabulary. Also included on the quarterly will be the preterit tense with u-stem verbs (Ch. 7 Nassi grammar book) and the imperfect tense (ch. 8 in Nassi grammar book).

Spanish 1- The focus will be on Chapter 6 ven conmigo text on primer paso and segundo paso vocabulary as well as possessive adjectives. Also included on the quarterly will be commands. Formal commands, Negative Formal commands, Informal commands, and Negative Informal commands.

All classes are to complete flashcards for the second section of chapter 6. They are listed at the end of the chapter under the heading "segundo paso." These vocabulary words in addition to primer paso words will be included on the quarterly exam on WEDNESDAY!!!

Class is to turn in a 50-100 word reflection on the Lean on Me Project. Students are to use quotes from songs presented in class by Mr. Perez as well as any songs that they heard in class by their fellow classmates. DUE FRIDAY!!! Typed or hand-written is acceptable.

Each student is to bring in or email me ([email protected]) a powerpoint presentation of their inspirational song. Each student will present a school appropriate song to the class and explain why they chose this song in a 1-3 minute oral presentation.

Flashcards on new vocabulary is due during your block. Bring BOTH books to class.

Class will celebrate the conclusion of Dia de los muertos week...Day of the dead week. We will be honoring our past loved ones through a cultural celebration where each student has the option of bringing in school appropriate food and/or beverages based on the likes of the family member or friend that they want to honor.

Test for Spanish 1 is focused on Pronouns and articles. Class will need to know the difference between Definite and Indefinite articles. The test will also include vocabulary from their ven conmigo textbook based on chapter 2 primer and segundo paso.

Test for Spanish 2 is focused on Irregular verbs in the Present Tense. The test will also include knowledge of Direct object recognition in a sentence as well as the ability to replace the direct object with its direct object pronoun. The test will also include vocabulary from ven conmigo textbook chapter three based on primer and segundo paso.

Tutoring is available after school.

Bring flashcards of the new vocabulary based on segundo paso in your ven conmigo textbook.

Class will need to study their review notes that we took in class today Monday.

Students will turn in their review packets at the BEGINNING of class TUESDAY the 11 of October.

Students are to complete their quarterly review packets given to them on Friday. Make sure to have them on Monday for our review for the quarterly exam Tuesday.

Class is to complete the post test exercises from their grammar book. Preterit tense of -er and -ir verbs will be the focus. Complete exercises F,G,H

Be prepared to receive a quarterly review packet Friday to ensure preparedness for Tuesday's quarterly exam.

Class will be tested on their knowledge of various topics.

They will include the verb querer, poder and verbs ending in -ger, -gir, -guir in the PRESENT TENSE.

Class will also be tested on the PRETERIT TENSE of -AR verbs.

Class will also be tested on ven conmigo textbook chapter 2 including vocabulary from this past week.

Students were told to write down review exercises to ensure success.

Project Spain travel brochure poster will be collected at the start of class. Make sure that you have met all requirements.

The written reflection is not due this Friday. Only the poster is due this Friday.

Class is to practice the preterit tense by completing exercise A, B from their Nassi grammar book on page 56.

Also make sure you bring in anything else you need to complete your project. You will have a short amount of time to complete anything that you didn't finish during block period. Completed poster is due FRIDAY!!!

Class is to bring in ALL of their research (including pictures) on their city in Spain. Also, students must bring in a posterboard to begin creating their travel brochure to help draw interest in their city.

Students must create flashcards on their current vocabulary. Also students will complete the worksheet given in class. Exercise 8 and 11 will be checked upon arriving to class.

Class must prepare for exam during block period. Exam will include stem changing ar er and ir verbs. Also know rules on cer cir uir uar and iar verbs. Vocabulary list from last week will be on test.

Class will complete -CER, -CIR, -IAR, and -UAR worksheet. Please refer to your notes that you took in class for assistance.

Homework due Monday will be to translate the story "Dale vida a los suenos" AND write a 30 word reflection sharing your opinion on why I would want you to read this story. Hopefully you can share its meaning to a loved one.

If you did not finish exercise 32 in ven conmigo page 23 during class Friday then you must have it completed by Monday.

Class is expected to study their flashcards based on their vocabulario de la semana. Expect a quiz tomorrow 9/9/2011
