ART AND MUSIC HISTORY *
Prerequisite: None
Grade 11, 12 1 Year
Students will trace the history and development of visual and performing arts from its prehistoric roots to the present time. They will learn to understand the musical and artistic manifestations of cultural and societal values throughout history. Extensive in-class viewing and listening will enable them to recognize different musical and artistic styles and trends. This course fulfills the art requirement for graduation.

1. for each provide a brief biography.
2. Provide a detail research about the music genre the music belongs to. Provide info specific to this genre ( the structure of the music, instruments that are unique or essential for this music genre, how does it work? ).
3. Provide the historical context/background of the music genre. Where does it come from? - geographic and cultural roots. When did it emerge? ( dates of origin), how does it follow traditional musical practice, structure; and how does it innovate, differs?

- Layout design must be thoughtful in order to maximize written and visual content.
- The content should come from  personal events that occurred during the Christmas break but it doesn't have to be a Christmas story. ( 1 long story or 3 short stories).
-Think about genres/ types of blogs and magazines that already exist in the world; food, sports, fashion, gossip columns, tech and toy blogs when deciding what type of magazine or newspaper yours would look like.
- Create a cohesive final page to present in class.
