Department
Science
Description

AP Physics 1 is designed to cover topics typically explored in the first semester of a college-level, algebra-based introductory Physics course, and to prepare students for future science coursework.  In accordance with California State Standards, topics covered will include Newtonian mechanics, statics, mechanical waves and sound, and simple electronic circuits. The AP course treats all of these subjects in greater detail and with more reliance on mathematical problem solving to conceptualize basic relationships than does a standard Physics class.
