Choose two sheets from the Civil Rights Movement source pages.  From those pages, what do they tell you about some aspects of the Civil Rights movement? Write a 2-3 paragraph reflection on the sources of the page. You may use the notes from the slides from class and your AMSCO book to help you get more background information on the events or sources.

Today, you will be writing the actual DBQ (second half of the assignment).

Your assignment for today 2/22 is a Progressive Era President Report Card essay. Using Chapter 21 in your book, you will be evaluating how successful the Progressive Presidents were in various reforms by giving them a grade of A through F. The presidents are: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Woodrow Wilson.

How this assignment will look is you will be writing a 5 paragraph essay. The first 3 paragraphs will be you explaining a grade for each of the 3 presidents (hence 3 paragraphs) and providing evidence on why they will have that grade. The second 2 paragraphs will be you answering the question: Were the presidents more successful politically, socially, or economically? Provide evidence to support your claim.

Issues to think about while you are grading/writing: Racism/Equality, Government Corruption/Political Reform, Labor and Corruption in Big Business, and Social Reform.

Fill out the chart for Chapter 21 identifies on the Progressive Era. It is imperative that you do this on time since you will need the information for your next assignments.

Use the documents and information from your identifies to fill out the chart on the Progressive era.

Your assignment for today is two parts. We are now in Period 7 which goes from 1898-1945. First, you will complete the motives for imperialism document. At this time our nation was getting involved with other nations whether it be in wars, annexing, or buying other nations. You will learn some motives for imperialism for the first part of the assignment. Secondly, you will complete the doc on the Spanish American war. You will watch the video first and then follow the directions to fill in the chart.

Answer the following question in a paragraph: What does Imperialism mean? Do you think the United States was Imperialistic? Defend your answer. If yes, where was it happening?

Here are the Period 7 identifies. Chapter 20 is due this coming Tuesday. I will repost a new assignment for each chapter, but in case you wanted to get ahead for each week here are all of them. You will have to reattach for each week in order for me to grade.

Your test has 3 parts:
Part 1) AP classroom multiple choice questions for period 6. It is already assigned, go to AP classroom and answer the questions.

Part 2) Period 6 SAQ questions. Choose 2 of the questions to answer. You may put them in your own google doc or word document. Remember ACE: Answer the question, Cite Evidence, and Expand your answer (what is the bigger picture?). Please answer the questions in separate parts a), b), c). Each piece of the SAQ should be 2-3 sentences.

Part 3) Long Essay Outline: You will be writing an opening paragraph (context and thesis) using the following question: Evaluate the extent to which the West was a land of opportunity for various groups during the Gilded Age.

• Describe in as much detail as you can the time period that is being referenced in the prompt. What is going
on at that time? Describe it like you would describe the basic plot of a movie.
• Make sure to include at least 2-3 pieces of historical facts / phenomena that show you know the time period.
Using specific dates will always help your score. NOTE: Try not use any historical facts / phenomena that you plan on using in your essay.

1-2 Sentences / Always the last portion of your Introductory Paragraph
• Make sure that your thesis addresses all parts of the question
• Do not restate the question in your thesis.

Hello! How did they (the colonists) perceive colonial diversity–positive, negative, uniquely American? What do they say accounted for diversity? How might these responses to diversity shape colonial society?
