Your assignment for today 2/22 is a Progressive Era President Report Card essay. Using Chapter 21 in your book, you will be evaluating how successful the Progressive Presidents were in various reforms by giving them a grade of A through F. The presidents are: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Woodrow Wilson.

How this assignment will look is you will be writing a 5 paragraph essay. The first 3 paragraphs will be you explaining a grade for each of the 3 presidents (hence 3 paragraphs) and providing evidence on why they will have that grade. The second 2 paragraphs will be you answering the question: Were the presidents more successful politically, socially, or economically? Provide evidence to support your claim.

Issues to think about while you are grading/writing: Racism/Equality, Government Corruption/Political Reform, Labor and Corruption in Big Business, and Social Reform.

• Make sure to include at least 2-3 pieces of historical facts / phenomena that show you know the time period.
