Answer the Following Questions from the Activity we did today on the Rise of Dictators:

1) From what you have learned today, what were some ways that dictators were able to gain power? 
2) Choose one dictator and give me the information from the chart (promises, crimes, and end) 
3) Tell me one thing you learned from doing this activity that you didn't know previously. 

Using the notes we took as a class on the New Deal Analysis, your assignment is to write a letter to President Roosevelt which highlights how 2-3 of his New Deal Programs will help your family.  You will be writing as if you were living during the Great Depression.  This assignment is worth 10 points.  You can do this on the assigned doc, or however you prefer.

From the Stock market Crash activity of 1929 we did in class, answer the following questions:
1) What did you learn about the Great Depression from this activity? 
2) What is the economic death spiral?

Group 1 will read 1,3,5 and answer those questions

Group 2 will read 2,4,6 and answer those questions.

Today we will be learning about the Spanish American War. You will listen to the lecture and take the guided notes (needed for upcoming quiz). Then, you have an assignment titled Spanish American War Clickbait. You will be making a short headline exaggerating an event in the Spanish American War (you will learn about Yellow Journalism in the lecture). In order to add text, go to insert Text box. 1) Watch the lecture on US Foreign policy and take the attached guided notes. You will keep these since you will use them for upcoming study guides/quiz.
2) Watch the attached video on US imperialism. Take the quiz attached after watching. You can either fill out the quiz by typing or on your own document/paper.

Use your guided notes from this unit (starts with Jim Crow laws notes, ends with Progressive Era notes) to fill in the study guide. We will have a test next class.

Today you will do a vocabulary assignment on Unit 7 (Gilded Age/Progressive Era). This is the same type of vocabulary assignment that we did at the beginning of the year.

Using the Vocabulary words posted in the assignment and your class notes, you will complete 4 different vocabulary activities. You may repeat words in different activities, however most need to be used before you repeat.
Activity 1: Draw 5 pictures illustrating the meaning of the vocabulary words.
Activity 2: Write 5 complete sentences that show historical understanding using the vocabulary words.
Activity 3: Write a paragraph (3-6 sentences) using 5 vocabulary words to show their meaning. This is not like activity 2, the words need to flow together to show their meaning, not be 5 separate sentences.
Activity 4: Draw a Venn diagram and create two topics at the top for the vocabulary words to fit into. Find 5 vocabulary words to fit into these topics. There must be something in all three circles.
You can choose your own categories. For example, you could choose Laws and Cities, or West/Cities.

Watch the recorded lecture on the Progressive moment, and take the guided notes. After that, read the article by muckraking journalist Upton Sinclair and answer the questions with it on a word document or google doc. This will be due next class.

Watch the lecture on Problems of Industrialization and follow along and take the attached guided notes. After you have done that: please answer the following questions on a google doc or in the comment box, whatever you prefer.

1) What were some problems that came with the build up of industries in the cities? (industrialization). Name at least 2.

2) What did people like Carnegie and Rockefeller do with their money to fend off criticism?

3) What were the poor working conditions during this time in factories?

1) Watch the lecture on Inventions and Industrial Leaders and take the attached guided notes while watching.
2) After watching the lecture, write two paragraphs on the doc answering the following questions:
-What invention from the lecture do you think was the most important and why?
-What invention throughout history do you think is the most important and why?

1) Read the passages/answer the questions on the first and second slide. You may do this in the speaker notes of the presentation or wherever is easiest for you.
2) Read the directions for the gilded age postcard. Complete it on the slide. TO put the text there, go to insert, then textbook to add the text. For pictures, you should be able to copy and paste pictures. Let me know if you have any trouble.

In our current unit we have been learning about immigration and urbanization in the cities. This assignment uses excerpts from a book called How the Other Half Lives by Jacob Riis. Riis went around cities and wrote down what he saw and took pictures to show the living conditions of the poor. Your assignment is to read the excerpts and answer the following questions.

Today, you will be watching a lecture on Life After Slavery. While doing so, fill out the guided notes called After Slavery and Jim Crow. Your assignment after is the Jim Crow laws assignment (attached). Make sure you pay attention to the directions on the lecture.

Today you will answer warm up questions on the Jim Crow laws then watch the lecture on westward movement and take the guided notes. This is due today.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Your assignment today is to watch the lecture posted below and fill in the guided notes on Reconstruction. Following that, you are to complete the Study guide for your Civil War Test. The Civil War test will be happening next class.

Watch the Lecture below (US week 1) on Reconstruction, and take the guided notes on reconstruction. Following the lecture, answer the questions from reconstruction notes for your assignment. It can be on a google doc or a word document. Make sure that you are answering the questions with from the lecture, otherwise I will take off points. This is due by your next class on Monday.
