Prerequisite:             None

Grade 11                   1 Year

The Church, Our Story provides the students a means for understanding the interrelationship of the various components of the Catholic Church. While acknowledging the importance of the historical perspective this course emphasizes the living Church and what it is in the present moment. The purpose of Meeting Jesus in the Sacraments is to provide students with a deeper sense of their identity as God's beloved children and give them opportunities to experience, express, and share God's love for them in Jesus Christ. It aims to effect a spiritual conversion, or transformation, within each student. Its goal is to make each student an authentic Christian, a true follower and imitator of Christ in family life, the workplace, the local community, and the world. This course has been found in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the USCCB High School Doctrinal Framework Secondary Level Protocol.
