DIGITAL ART-Period 1

Course Description

Digital Art will provide students an opportunity to explore the field of Graphic Design through learning about The Principles of Design. Student activities include learning different design tool formats that help facilitate projects in printmaking and digital software. Emphasis will be on effort, following directions, meeting deadlines, presentation, and creativity. UC requirements, Common Core, and State Standards are met in this course.

Designing a Tattoo (Canva)

Students learn the art of tattooing along with navigating Canva.com as a digital method to make art. Students’ previous learning about the history of tattoos helps them to brainstorm their own tattoo designs. Once students determine their design from their drawings, students are to then design on Canva.com where they will download and upload to print out their temporary tattoos onto tattoo paper to apply onto themselves. Next, students are to design a tattoo for a client (another student) using the following rubric below.
