On April 6, 2009, Trey Ursich was recognized by the NCAA as part of the 22nd Annual National STUDENT-Athlete Day, an event that celebrates outstanding student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics while providing significant contributions to the community. A junior catcher, Ursich boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester. While at Mary Star, Ursich hit 16 home runs as a sophomore to set a school record.
